McDERMONT TEMPORARILY HALTS OPERATION OF THE FLOWRIDER

LINDSAY, Calif. –McDermont Field House today temporarily halts operation of the Flowrider™ due to California State Permanent Amusement Ride Regulations unbeknownst to the facility. “We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused,” stated Brad Albert, Recreation Director for the City of Lindsay. “We anticipate being in full operation within a very short period of time.”

McDERMONT FIELD HOUSE WELCOMES RAMÓN RAMIREZ

LINDSAY, Calif. – McDermont Field House will host a youth soccer camp with Mexican soccer star Ramón Ramirez June 13-15.  The camp is for boys and girls ages 7-18.  The entry fee per participant is $90.00 and includes admission to all three sessions of the camp, an autographed soccer ball and T-shirt.  The opening session of the camp will be Friday June 13 from 5:00-7:00 PM at McDermont Field House.  The next session is on Saturday June 14 from 3:00-7:00 PM on the brand-new FieldTurf fields at Lindsay High School.  The final session will be on Sunday June 15 from 3:00-7:00 PM at McDermont Field House.  On Sunday, there will be an autograph session with food and beverage, raffles, contests, prizes and music.

Ramón Ramirez is one of Mexico’s most recognized soccer players.  Ramirez made 121 appearances and scored 15 goals for the Mexican National Team from 1991-2000.  He represented Mexico in two World Cups, three Copa Americas, and four CONCACAF Gold Cups.  Ramón played several years for Chivas Guadalajara and also spent time with Club América.  Most recently, Ramirez starred for CD Chivas USA in the MLS.

McDERMONT INTRODUCES FLAG FOOTBALL & FUTSAL LEAGUES, CHEER SQUAD

LINDSAY, Calif. –McDermont Field House will host a flag football and futsal (indoor soccer) league this spring.  The men’s flag football league kicks off April 26 for an eight-week season.  All games will be played on Saturday mornings and will be held at the brand-new FieldTurf fields at Lindsay High School.  The cost is $250 per team and the deadline to sign up is April 21.  For more information regarding flag football, contact Gary Tomlinson at (559) 361-3580 or gtomlinson@lindsay.ca.us.
 
Youth and adult futsal leagues will begin May 18.  Players from the Fresno Fuego Fútbol Club will be at McDermont Field House on Wednesday, April 16 from 5:00-8:00 PM for a free clinic to introduce the fast-paced futsal to the Lindsay community.  Team registration for adults is $200 per team.  Registration for children ages 4-10 is $40 and ages 11-17 is $45. McDermont Field House will host try-outs for the McDermont Cheer Squad.  Youth, ages 7-13, are encouraged to participate in the try-outs.  The squad will consist of 18 cheerleaders and two mascots.  All cheers and dances required for try-outs will be taught at the clinics.  The try-out clinics will be May 7 from 6:00-8:00 PM, May 8 from 7:00-8:30 PM and May 9 from 6:00-8:00 PM.  Try-outs are on Saturday, May 10 from 8:00 AM- 12:00 PM.  For more information regarding McDermont Cheer Squad, contact Rebecca Hernandez at (559) 361-3933.
