McDERMONT WRESTLING CLUB Wrestling Tournaments John Muir 20th Annual Wrestling Tournament  McDermont Field House just held the largest wrestling tournament in Tulare County on Saturday January 15, 2011. Wrestlers from Nevada, Southern Cal, as well as from the northern towns of San Jose & Sacramento competed. It was held on the indoor soccer arena fields and all levels above were full of fans cheering on their favorite wrestlers. It was estimated 3,500 wrestlers and guests were present during the Saturday event.  "The guests from out of the area were amazed what a small city can do and they have never seen anything like this and these fans travel the west coast for tournaments during the season" Rene Hernandez Sports Director stated.  Local teams that were involved were Burton Middle School and Alta Vista competing vs tough competition. McDermont Field House will be hosting three more tournaments this 2011 year and will be hosting the John Muir 21st annual tournament next year.
